The 24th Annual ATMIA US Conference takes place February 7-9, 2023 – this time in Hilton New Orleans Riverside in New Orleans LA.

The conference theme – A New Universe of ATM Opportunities – which focus on the Next-Gen ATM initiatives and new exciting capabilities within self-service.

This year’s event will continue to be the largest and most highly regarded event for the ATM industry.

Naturally, Cryptera is attending the event and will exhibit products and services for the ATM industry (Booth 318). Come by and visit our team of ATM specialists; Stig Gudmundsen (Director Sales & Marketing), Morten Schmidt (Sr. Manager Product Management & Presales) and Torben Ellgaard (Product Manager).

If you’re interested in how cryptography improves ATM security, don’t miss the breakout session on Wednesday (February 8, 4:45-5:25 PM) where Torben Ellgaard presents:

”ATM security through cryptography – transforming theory to practical solutions”

Summary of Presentation:
Security in ATMs rely on numerous cryptographic principles and standards. While many of the abbreviations are common knowledge; many in the business don’t understand the underlying concepts and how they actually enhance security. The presentation provides answers to questions and descriptions of concepts. This information is often hard to get because it is perceived to be “obvious”.
What is the real purpose of DUKPT, TR-31 and other principles used to ensure security? Why is Key Management and secure provisioning important and how can it be done in a practical and yet secure manner?
The presentation will explore some of these concepts based on cryptographic, set them in perspective an explain why they are used and what purpose they serve.

Torben Ellgaard has more than 20 years of experience as Product Manager for Cryptera A/S. An important part of this role is to convey knowledge on complex OEM products to integrators that create the full solution. Torben has been in charge of Encrypting PIN Pads (EPPs) when PCI was established and started to issue security requirements. Historically the EPP provider have had a major role in implementing this security and educating integrators in the cryptographic principles and the security procedures to be applied. As a result, Torben is highly experienced in breaking down the complex matters to “digestible” bits that leads to a better understanding.

ARCA, our partner in the US, will also attend the event with their team of industry experts; Jhonny Vides (Sales Development Manager) and Brian Honeycutt (Product Manager).
